He's already paying rent with a roommate so I don't understand why he felt he needed a smaller room within an apartment. Was he already sleeping in the living room? I live in SF so I understand the cost of renting apartments and anywhere near a beach is almost untouchable. So if he's paying $400.00+, I take it there is more than 1 roommate. I don't get it.
