Thyroid levels can be low normal, and your hair can still be falling out because every human body is different! Treating people formulaically is criminal. "Low Normal', "High Normal" are inaccurate reference points. Don't let a doctor tell you "Your thyroid is low normal now go away". Fight for your health. If you know your efforts toward losing weight are in vain, start with what I've told you here, and do your homework. You don't want to leave a ten-year-old kid behind with a mid-thirties mother trying to put the pieces back together after your loss.

And as an aside, before thyroid, my food cravings were almost uncontrollable. Since taking thyroid, I only eat as much as my body needs. My cravings have nearly disappeared. Although the weight loss is still slow, it's better, and I hate the sight of food. But if I miss a thyroid dose, I feel like an alcoholic 3 days after a bender! So I have come to learn, anecdotally, that an out-of-balance body will demand unhealthy foods looking for the thing it needs. As you get over thirty, the human thyroid naturally slows down. Mine is wrecked for whatever reason. But I hope whoever reads this understands that you have to do your own research, because Canadian and American doctors will crucify you for obesity before they'll ever treat you. Go see an endocrinologist. Be prepared with knowledge about Cushing's (heightened prolactin and cortisol levels; gynecomastia is always caused by a pituitary problem) and thyroid malfunction (exhaustion, weight gain, insane cravings).
