I don't think school is any more stressful now than it used to be. It may even be easier, what with the internet. When I was in secondary school, we'd have 1-hr or 2-hr classes back to back from 8.00 till 14.00, with only a 45-min recess. You may do after-school lessons too if your parent thinks you need them, and those can be up to 5 hours. Then you need to do all the homework from school lessons before bedtime, which is typically earlier than for adults. And we'd have to scour books to solve homework, since the internet wasn't as widespread as it is now. I think these days it's so easy to connect with people who complain about stuff as much as you do so it just reinforces it till every teen everywhere is complaining about how stressful school is.
