I don't care that it's used for emphasis. 'Blonde' (A bloody hair color) is still used as a metaphor for stupidity. Which is ironic in a way, because said metaphor is stupid. Appereance is not a measure of intelligence. But by using it as such, both men and women are shamed for looking a certain way, and are forced into a box that fits their lifestyle according to others. Women and men can be both educated AND put significant time into their appereance. Women typically defined as 'pretty' who are in an academic field endure a lot harassasment, and are often not taken seriously because of their appereance.
