It seems that real Feminists (believe in equal pay for equal work, equal opportunities) don't speak out against that extreme behavior, which allows it to represent the whole group.

That's really good that the parents (guessing) are setting a good example for the boy by reading. He sees that it's a valuable activity because they do it.
It seems condescending to think that it should go viral though.. "Oh look, black people can read."

That particular "big girl" is a scaled up "curvy girl." There's a difference between the pic shown (who I'd gladly date) and the typical girl or woman who complains about how men don't like large women...and hasn't seen her feet for years and is morbidly obese.

Talking on the phone is harder to "disengage" from than music on the radio or talking to a passenger. Also, a passenger can sense you tensing up or catch other cues when you are about to need to pay more attention to traffic.

In the last one, he got there because the Democrats ran one of the five or six people who were more horrific. Also, they looked the other way when the Clinton Machine stole the primaries from the actual winner...which makes the whines of "but she won the popular vote" that much more ironic since they didn't care about vote count so much when they threw Bernie Sanders under the bus. Thanks ever so much, Democrats.

Both sides do it? Dude, when you talk about taking firearms from responsible law abiding citizens to attempt to keep them out of the hands of people who don't obey the law anyway, you ARE trying to take away their rights. When you want to tax people to pay for others' college or medical insurance or housing or "basic income," you ARE promoting socialism. So, someone pointing that out is not "both sides doing it," because in some or even a lot of the cases, you fcv€%n& ARE doing the thing they're calling you out for.

My friend did that with a bank clock...he was an electrical engineering major, and created a circuit to show time and temperature. The big problem was, the clock used incandescent bulbs, and the current draw blew the circuit breakers often enough to draw too much attention to keep the clock going.

Realize what this meme implies to,people who don't know who Mr Rogers is or only have a passing knowledge. So,e of them only get their news from memes and late night tv so they're going to get a mistaken idea of this nuanced "joke." For those that have English as their 2nd or 3rd language, they're really going to struggle with the subtext, and picture a closet Weinstein or Clinton.

Hey! You're appropriating my culture by threatening to traffic in slaves! (The culture of the Dutch and English of the 1800s who transported and monetized the sale of slaves to the US, and who now claim the moral high ground since they did away with slavery in their colonies a couple decades earlier; alternatively, the African and Middle Eastern people who captured Africans and sold them to slave traders for profit).

You are way behind the times, buddy. You need to treat her as an equal, while knowing when to hold a door open and when to not ("I don't need a man to control when I can enter or exit a building"), when to pull out a chair, etc. But paying for the meal is definitely on the list of stuff you're still expected to do.

You young unmarried types over-romanticize being married. Wives fart and drool in their sleep besides snore. Those commercials about "morning breath" aren't a joke, and that doesn't happen in just the last five minutes of sleep.

If you look at the statistics of gun ownership vs gun violence across the world, the US has vey high (legal) ownership, and one of the lowest per capita deaths per 1000000 of,population. The numbers are skewed by the high amount of gun violence in cities which are (coincidentally?) controlled by the strongest gun control advocates, and have the strictest gun control laws but still have the most violence. So,really, a large part of what you're seeing is media frenzy over "the latest thing." You're child is still much much more likely to die in a pool accident.
Remember the rash of fires set in Black churches? Turns out the number was the same as ever, but the media made that a thing one year. We didn't seem too concerned about the Russians when the Secretary of State was giving them plutonium, but now "Russian medling" is in the news and being broadcast all the time.
Maybe take a look at the numbers before agitating for more laws that will only be obeyed by the law abiding.

I see why there can be a certain amount of self interest in "altruism." But it also seems that the net benefit to an individual is less than the amount of energy/money/effort/whatever that any individual expends on his own. That is, you may get a hundred dollars of benefit over your life but you kicked in a hundred hours of tutoring/volunteering/helping/whatever. So there really is some selflessness in altruism, even if some benefit eventually goes to the benefactor.
Of course, if what you call "altruism" is just agitating for higher taxes on others to fund various programs that let you feel that "something is being done" about an issue that appeals to you, then that's more hypocrisy than altruism, since you want to feel better about "doing something" without having any of your own skin in the game.

1. He probably said that they *dont*, not doesn't, and also *past* rather than passed. Way to insult those stupid engineers.
2. I can't think of engineers or any people in the US who don't know that dogs are descended from wolves, but I can imagine other countries where pet dogs aren't a part of the family or they don't have wolves where people just don't think about them as much. Plus, there was an article on LinkedIn last week about all the engineering grads in India who couldn't do the most basic engineering tasks, so there are definitely places that move students along to award a diploma where they don't know much.
