I get the point but whenever I see this argument I think it underestimates how heavily armed the government is. Last century, governments used tanks to oppress (Soviets 1953 in Berlin and 1968 in Prague, Chinese 1989 on Tiananmen Square), nowadays they have drones and robots are under development. I don't see people having the guns to defend themselves against any of these.

Also, just because they were invented in Japan doesn't make using them cultural appropriation. Otherwise everybody using the internet outside the US would be appropriating US culture.

Also the drainage holes are pointless in the middle as lowest point where the water will run will be at the edge. You can achieve the same by holding the lid on the pot slightly ajar.

oh, if only it were that simple..:
"However, the primary cause for lower than average wage growth in the late 1970s appears to be economic stagnation in the area, with immigration only a secondary factor." digitalcommons.law.yale.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1157&context=ylpr

or
"our economy is optimized for financialization, not labor/earned income", "[economists'] explanations include automation, globalization/ offshoring, the high cost of housing, a decline of corporate competition (i.e. the dominance of cartels and quasi-monopolies), a failure of our educational complex to keep pace, stagnating gains in productivity, and so on." www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-08/real-reason-wages-have-stagnated-our-economy-optimized-financialization?page=

I was gonna sarcastically point out the species that were hunted to extinction, but apparently that actually works (at least it helps preserve the remaining population of a species on the brink of extinction) according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting#Conservation_tool and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunting#Conservation.
But still, examples of animals hunted to extinction exist (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Species_made_extinct_by_human_activities) albeit that happened without the hunters having to pay for hunting them (so different incentivation mechanisms at work there).

It's as much a theory as the theory of gravity. It's as unproven as the risks and benefits of vaccinations and the sphere shape of the earth. Go ahead, devise an experiment that falsifies it. And look, it's already showing effects: theguardian.com/environment/radical-conservation/2017/apr/05/climate-change-life-wildlife-animals-biodiversity-ecosystems-genetics

Sounds to me like two different recollections of the same story. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eyewitness_testimony). Why would whoever made this believe the pink facebooker was lying because the barman contradicted her but not that the barman was lying because the pink facebooker contradicted him?
