When I worked at a bookstore, this girl came in (I swear she looked and dressed like she was 17 or 18) and wanted a copy of Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur. The mother stood there and paged through it before paying. The next day she came in b*tching about how I could sell that book to her 14 year old daughter. Seriously?

It's entirely possible that he had cameras up to make sure his roommate wasn't stealing his stuff or wrecking the place and he caught it by accident. Especially if his name was on the lease and he was responsible for the security deposit.
