not to mention your immediate environment won't accurately represent your individual impact. If you produce a lot of trash, use a ton of electricity, etc. your immediate surroundings might not be effected, but that doesn't mean you have more than your fair share of trash floatin around in the pacific.

Cutting down trees to create farmland is the primary cause of deforestation worldwide. Not to mention livestock account for a fuckton of greenhouse gas contribution. If you want to point fingers, larger industrial countries like the United States and China contribute greatly to the issue of climate change, while places such as bangladesh, marquesas islands, and kiribati contribute very little per capita to climate change but will suffer its effects far more. If you want to point fingers, european countries, the us, and china are largely at fault for the pain and suffering we'll see in the pacific. It's not much of a city vs. country issue
