I don't consider myself old (I'm a naughty forty) but I can relate. I have a cable drawer. I also have a "that will be handy one day" drawer..... :)

Farts made sound? 4 comments

I'm not buying it. By 23 you would have read a book or closed captioning from a show or movie, seen friends burst out laughing, watched someone cup their hand under their arm, something would have alerted you to the fact that farts make noise even if you can't hear them.

And then if you do throw one out, that's the exact cable that you will need next time you have to look for one.

It's even way more sadistic than that. They force-feed the person with lots of food and drink, partly to ensure they don't die of starvation/thirst, and partly so they poop a lot to attract even more flies and bugs. Only the head, hands, and feet are visible - the rest of the body is covered to cause a dark, humid environment to encourage the decay. Eventually, the person dies of sepsis, thirst/hunger (they stop feeding the person after a while since the bowels are rotted), and all kinds of unpleasantness. So, @famousone, still think you could do this to anyone? Becoming a monster to kill a monster still means there's a monster left alive.

And then this becomes trendy and then gets added to the dictionary because they're trying to be hip or whatever. Just encouraging bad grammar.

There were a couple college football coaches (Notre Dame was one) where they hired a coach and down the road...sometimes years....discovered that he didn't have the qualifications he presented. And the Notre Dame one wasn't even his resume, but the press materials that went into the game programs...he claimed some stuff he didn't have/do, and that triggered a closer look at his actual, qualifications, and eventually his resume.
You should have that looked at 10 comments

I can't watch that show. Yes,they're geniuses, but they make something useful out of junk lying around, and it always works THE FIRST TIME THEY TRY IT!!! I'm an engineer, and even when everything goes right, things don't work as planned with carefully drawn up and analyzed components. But yeah, you can make a rescue capsule out of a discarded water heater on the fly, and it'll seal to a submarine (that you didn't even have the design specs for) so you can perform a deep sea rescue. And when the guy figures out that there's a slight statistical bias towards something to happen, it always happens as predicted. That's not how slight statistical bias works.

If it is indeed true that faking mental illness to get out of a prison sentence is something a psychopath would do, then the doctor's diagnosis was correct, and he did belong in a mental institution.

Bullshit. They work for less money than anyone else, driving everyone else out of an area. They've done it with construction in the area around here. The only place they haven't' been able to do it is 50 miles north were the Hopi and Navajo won't let they get a foot hold.
