If you really wanted to get into it, 9 is correct if you use pemdas. The Casio may have used pemdas but is on the mod4 (for example) setting, meaning subtract 4 as many times from the answer as possible without going negative. Therefore the answer would be 1. If it was mod3, then you would subtract 3 as many times as possible making the answer 0. Hope I didn't hurt yalls brains too much.
