Actually, the bible uses the word "youth" or "lads" which in that time spanned from adolescents to 40 year old men. Keep in mind that 42 people are a lot of people and their jeering had malicious intent. “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” The phrase "go up" is referencing Elisha's predecessor Elijah who was taken unto heaven. "Baldhead" is a word of utter contempt used in the East. Might want to look before you jump off the conclusion cliff.
