I'll admit I never watched Friends as a whole, only saw a few episodes here and there. I think a lot of them _think_ that all girls want Joey, the charismatic and successful but not so smart guy, they think that all women are gold diggers or attracted to "alphas" (ironically the alpha thing has been debunked by the same dude who originally wrote it) while they, the "betas" are left out. Not realizing that regular women just want someone who will care about them and make them laugh and that the reason they can't get a date (or get laid, because obviously emotional connections don't matter as much as having that sex achievement) is that they have really shitty personalities.

@guest yes though it could be argued that this is due to the system in place. At least the costs are. But yes the good treatment definitely isn't everywhere.

Hope you will find something you like,doing that pays well. But, if you majored in something that has no job prospects or very narrow appeal, then that's on you for not looking into it first. Don't major in modern dance, or art history of the French revolutionary period, or the anthropology of basket making, and expect potential employers to be banging down your door. Or don't major in petroleum engineering and be unwilling to,relocate to where all that particular niche is done.

So here's the issue with that. You're trying to make it about those greedy 25%ers who don't want to pay a teeny bit more to allow fellow citizens to have peace of mind, the reality is that just under 50% of working US citizens PAY NO TAXES, and in actuality, receive money back from the government. So, what you're really asking is for those greedy 25%ers, who make $100,000 or more a year, to pay a LOT more to support those who pay nothing.
If the US is willing to tax everyone at 20%, no matter how much they make, then we can talk, until then, it's just people wanting to stick their hands in my pockets because they don't want to stick them in their own.
