in the little mermaid she doesn't commit suicide. the prince falls in love with another girl because he thought she rescued him. in the end the Ariel's sisters cut off all their hair with a dagger and then give it too Ariel to kill the prince with so she can lie but she doesn't kill him and then she dies and becomes foam. but then because she was so ind she became a spirit of peace or something.
