I HATE when I'm having a witty argument with someone & have the best comeback but am trying to talk too quickly & start tripping over my words then end up looking like an idiot... it happens more often than it should. Am I the only one that this happens to?

The german term is "Entscheidung treffen".
"Treffen" can mean "to meet" or "to hit / to strike".
Or you could use "eine Entscheidung fällen". "Fällen" is also the verb for cutting down trees ("einen Baum fällen") and derives from the verb "fallen" which means "to fall / to drop".
Sooo...yeah. Maybe we don't "meet decisions" like old friends in Germany but instead strike them or cut them down...

Actually Kevin Hart never apologized, Vulture did an investigation on his past remarks (https:// www. google.com /amp/s/ www. vulture. com/amp/2019/ 01/kevin-hart-homophobic-tweets-apologies-ellen-degeneres. html). Additionally, the ‘jokes’ in question weren’t about something frivolous like stereotypes and he wasn’t saying something like ‘all gay men are flamboyant amiright fellow heteros?’ He was joking about assaulting gay people for being gay, and specifically his son. This is a huge fear of every LGBT person’s—being disowned and the violence that can result from coming out—and even joking about how you’re going to commit acts of violence against x group for BEING x group is not okay.
