Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but I'm fairly certain it was edited. The Duolingo Company said that they sent a "crying bird" email, but not with that text. Also; it's not "Language Bird," I think his name is just Duo.

Yeah, it would make more sense if it was a buoy, but people don't want a weird blob tatted on their arm. It's all about the aesthetic these days.
