That makes sense. It's good that you want that certainty. However, it isn't necessarily invalid to be non-confrontational. Maybe someone needs to mature a bit, maybe that's just how they are. Nothing too wrong with that.

Confrontation doesn't always work to keep those relationships. It's good that you and your friend are still best buds. When someone distances themselves they might be doing it unintentionally, they might be doing it intentionally, confronting someone just cements a decision.

Then again the whole idea of humans having a "passion" is vague and useless. Some people just have an "eh" attraction to everything.
