Well, I'm not a troll out of a Pratchett novel and therefore, don't count one, two, many, lots. So, I think narrowing it down to three is not that big a pool of countries to choose from.

There is no such discussion, at least not among historians. At the same time early crossbows were used in China Greeks were using crossbows, too. There have been many parallel inventions over the course of history and this appears to be one of them.

People just don't understand democracy. You don't look for the party that has 100% overlap with your interests and opinions; that would effectively mean one party for every voter. Instead, you have three options: 1) Vote for the party/candidate that is least repulsive to you. 2) Determine that you're unable to find a party which agrees with your ideas, form a new party yourself and gather followers to do better. 3) Abstain from voting but consequently shut the fuck up about the "rotten system" when you couldn't be bothered to go for option 1) or 2).

One debatable date, two arbitrary and one insane; I mean 1912, really? 1806 I would have understood but 1912? Why 1912? Did the last descendant of Emperor Nepo secretly board the Titanic and sank with it?

Better to lose a good friend than a bad joke has always been my motto. And I'm running out of friends.

Great, this will keep me awake all night. I'm about almost certain I've seen that one and I'm pretty sure that some weird shit happens to them. Something about diving and not being able to return. But I cannot remember the titel or what exactly happens next. Thank you so much; sleep deprivation, here I come.

Yeah, because the USA and Russia didn't exercise their own flavour of imperialism (Pan-Slavism & Manifest Destiny for example). All major and some minor industrialised nations took part in that madness. It's just that some of us quit or were forced to leave the game. By the way, Japan is missing.

Biopic... please mean biopic. I really don't want to imagine a Roosevelt biopsy.

Being German, it's kind of hard to resist the urge to correct. Every German knows that the struggle is real.

Yes, we do. And it's a never ending fountain of joy for us seeing English speakers sob in despair when they try to wrap their head around this.
