That depends on the camera. For instance, speed cameras snap a picture using instantaneous detection, so it's pretty likely he was actually going faster than the camera was programmed to ignore if one of these got him. Then there are so-called red light cameras, these will snap a pic as soon as the car passes and hits the switch under the asphalt, no matter what your speed. There's lots of cameras that will just go off continuously depending on the trigger since a human will be double-checking the pictures.

It's possible. The cameras go off when cars trigger them under certain conditions (like certain speeds, or a trigger under the asphalt that reads the car's weight passing). My sister got one in the mail for turning on red at an intersection where it wasn't allowed and they tacked on a ticket for no seatbelt. The camera just takes a shit ton of amazingly clear pictures all day, humans look at them and send out tickets for spotted violations. You could spot the color of my sister's eyes in this picture they sent, there was no way of claiming it wasn't her.

To be fair, "sexual assault survivors" as a group doesn't mean everyone the label applies to reacts the same. I'm glad the joke doesn't upset her, but there a lot of other survivors it would upset. This logic is like one person who's been shot and recovered okay rolling their eyes because another person who got shot gets upset when somebody jokes about shooting them again.

When People Don't Pay Attention To The Movie 6 comments

I always use my phone during movies (except ones at the theater, but I rarely go there). I actually hate watching TV and movies, I only do it because people I know really want to watch something. I'd probably be bored to literal tears if I didn't have something else to keep me occupied alongside it when I'm stuck in front of a non-interactive screen.

I think this comic was meant more to highlight the large number of people who do this with everything bad that happens but don't lift a finger to change anything. For the Haiti earthquake, for example, and all the people who loudly lamented but then balked at the bery idea of donating a few dollars. It doesn't really work with things like bombings.

And I think this dude died in 1916 or 1917. So this is basically the early 1900s equivalent of "YOU DAMN MILLENNIALS WITH YOUR V-NECK SHIRTS AND YOUR WEIRD ABILITY TO SHOW YOU HAVE EMOTIONS. *old man fist shake*"

ISIS claimed the attack, but did so using incorrect descriptions of what happened. It's something they seem to do. Claiming attacks they didn't do gives a false view of them as all-reaching and bolsters their reputation even as they lose ground. It's a tactic.

That's the Republican PEOPLE, most of whom are reasonable and decent. The Republican POLITICIANS are only about catering to the far right fringe groups who have raise enough money to pay for their attention, and staying in office their whole lives.

Dependa on the reasons. You can't sue for more than worker's comp will cover in an injury case. It's an at-will state so you can't sue just for being fired. But there are things NY law will let you sue for if you can prove them...discrimination, sexual harassment, violating whistleblower protection, etc.

I didn't say "men might kill their kids." I said that people MALE AND FEMALE who are in a place where suicide is a valid answer for them may be at a higher risk of taking the kids with them. And again...nobody is going to wake up and say "I'm going to kill myself because I can't see my kids" if they are emotionally stable. Those ones that do are not doing it STRICTLY because they can't see their kids. Know why? IF YOU COMMIT SUICIDE YOU SCAR YOUR CHILDREN AND THEY NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN. You are NOT rationally realizing this if you are considering suicide, if you're considering suicide you are in a VERY dark place. You're thinking about YOU, about YOUR pain. A judgement against you may be a trigger, but it isn't an underlying reason or cause. This ad takes men and says "males are 2 dimensional, stupid, and not complex. Divorce courts hurt their feelings and they kill themselves, case closed."

I don't think you know very much about suicide if you think so. Mentally healthy people don't commit suicide, they cobtinue fighting for custody and if they lose then they wait for their kids to hit 18 and try to mend bridges. If you wake up one morning and see literally no bright spots in your life and decide to kill yourself then custody may be a contributing trigger but it is NOT the reason. And if somebody has no bright spots in their life, you don't want to trust them with children. Men and women both commit murder suicide on their kids because they're in a dark place where suicide is any kind of answer.

Okay, first of all, no. And you are doing a tremendous disservice to men who need helpwith this bullshit. This is an adult version of 13 Reasons Why, and fuck this shit. Men commit suicide because they have underlying depression or issues and CAN'T GET HELP. Do you know why? Because some asshole looks at them and goes "You know what's wrong with Frank? No, not depression. Pfft, depression is for weak people. No, it's that damn family court system, stopping Frank from feeling like a real man and doing his manly duties." Fuck that. Frank doesn't need custody or visitation if he's at this point, you know what Frank needs? Support and intervention. Frank needs people to help him get get to a point where he's okay again and won't hang himself while his kids are in the house, not fucktards saying "know what suicides are good for? Marketing."

It may also just have important documents that need to be grabbed in case of fire/flood/evacuation. The safe itself may be water and/or fireproof in case it's not safe to go and grab on the way out.
