If the feeling is mutual, and they are both willing to wait until the younger one has matured and is sure before they do anything rash (ergo sex and/or marriage), then I think it would be okay, yes.

It's more a matter of maturity for me. My favorite example is my Latin teacher and his wife. They met when she was his student in one of his first high school English classes, but because they were both smart about it, they wanted to wait. Ten years later, the Miss is an English teacher at the school where Mr now teaches Latin, and they were basically the entire school's OTP. They were absolutely ADORABLE together: kind, respectful, and the way they looked at each other when they thought no one was looking was the most cliche, heartwarming nonverbal profession of love I have ever seen. A few years ago, at the ages of 40 and 58 respectively, Miss and Mr said "fuck societal standards" and became Mrs and Mr Smith.
Maybe marriage and sex aren't appropriate for 16/36, but love has almost no age limit. True love is timeless.

Nah, I'm with the horse. IMO, 16/36 isn't very smart or ethical, but 18/38, or, even better, 20/40 is perfectly fine. So long as you're willing to wait for the younger to mature and it isn't just about sex, go for it. Life is for living.
