You would see bottles of this on Field Day in Elementary School. We were (stupidly) convinced that Jolt would make you run faster.

I'm not sure I understand your comment. Black and Tan had nothing to with race. It had everything to do with hating the British government and wanting it the fuck out of Ireland.

I have been there! You can walk around the whole thing, even taking steps up to stand on top of the wall.

Well, this is a tough one. Straight up telling people that you don't want to be their friend because of reasons can seriously backfire. But slowly start distancing yourself from them. Stop being the one to initiate everything but don't turn people away if they call you first.
But at the end of the day you have to realize that the only person's happiness that you are responsible for is you.

Tough pill to swallow, but find new friends or learn to be okay without them. I spent the better part of 2 decades trying to be friends with someone, and it worked when they needed someone...not so much when they didn't. I broke ties 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Cutting bad people out of your life is liberating, and it opens up opportunities to meet better people. The less time you spend chasing the past, the more time you can spend exploring the future.

I get what both of you are saying, but I'm okay with what she said. We need to erase the stigma against men showing emotion and one of the best ways to do that is by women showing men that holding everything back isn't the cool thing to do anymore. Sometimes a shock to the system is good

I was there last year. Probably not that same exact spot, but the view from Kilchurn Castle looks just like that.

All the world will be your enemy, Prince of a Thousand enemies. And when they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you; digger, listener, runner, Prince with the swift warning. Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed.

"Be cunning and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed" That is the only appropriate comment

I quit smoking by turning to vaping. However, I don't vape in public but I used to smoke like a freight train anytime I was out drinking. YMMV though

This has nothing to do with Sherlock. It's a quote for a Terry Pratchett novel. "Men at Arms", great book from a great author.

Yes vlekkie, how someone responds to anothers voice isn't always a choice. I know several people that I absolutely love, but cannot stand the sound of their voice. It's almost a primal instinct. It's not judgemental, it's a natural phenomenon.
