Maybe. Or a regional thing, as I have people of all ages around me.
And I didn't want to implement you're choosing your friends based on whether or not they like Rammstein. I'm saying friendships, especially in younger ages tend to create heterogeneity in many aspects.

The potential that you are loving Rammstein and thus are spending time with people who have the same taste as you is high and so is probably influencing your impression.
Most people I know don't like them, in fact, even the metalheads I know don't, while I'm on the "meh..." side of it.

Not that much. They have some very loyal Fans, but they are way more successful elsewhere.
They were a topic in media for some time in the beginning, but nowadays you don't even recognise them, if you aren't part of their Fans.
That's basically true for many German bands who made it to international success, sich as Scooter or
the Scorpions.
