My stance has been consistent on principle. The government breaking it's own laws and openly violating people's rights is wrong, and protesters and counter-protesters can do whatever they want that doesn't hurt anybody or take or break anybody's stuff.

Varnah is entirely on topic, the topic in this case being the history certain users have concerning me, and my skepticism over any supposed good will after so many months, years in some cases, of established hostility and tolerance of harassment and worse.
But sure, this is all about you. Always is.

And yet here you are, after days of doing exactly that.

You asked about counter protesters, clearly trying to establish some kind of false equivalence.
I contextualized what all is being done by the government that is not okay, and outlined what I consider appropriate for protesters in similar contexts.
Tl;dr: Counter protests are fine, just don't hurt anybody or take their stuff, and the government is going too far into tyranny.

Make a claim, ask a question, or keep trolling. You can refocus us, I'm otherwise satisfied where xvarnah left things.

And happy_frog was there. Musing to Karl over whether I'm a Trumptard or the guy who got kicked out of the army. Karl himself has implied that I'm a pedophile, and I would keep a list going but I'm not trying to challenge guest's comment length.

Sounds to me like you don't have a rebuttal. It is clear to all of us with eyes and ears that you are trying to establish some kind of false equivalence. And you've done a wonderful job of proving me right.

Make a claim, ask a question, or keep trolling. You can only control yourself. Just don't expect anybody to ignore your insults no matter how flowery it might seem to you.

I'm sorry, but I totally thought I was about to watch a kid develop a limp and a slur.

Finally, some good fucking advice about self-care!
Too often it's "accept and love everything that makes you a difficult or bad person", as though the world doesn't need discipline and accountability.
Reject the kindergarten bullshit, embrace extreme ownership.

Or actually suicide bait and harass, when getting off the platform just isn't working.

Counter protests are just fine. What isn't fine is stealing from or endangering the lives of other people.
And what really isn't fine, is the government in question openly and deliberately "revoking" civil rights, bypassing due process, using the power of the state to harass political opponents, and deputizing the banks and media to further harass protesters and their supporters.

And here you are again. Acting as though your verbosity can disguise the insults you have weaved throughout your rhetoric and tangents.
You simply must not know how to have a proper discussion. Or much like a child who does not see the sneer on her own face, you fail to detect the scorn, belittlement, and derision in your tone.
If you want a discussion here is a few tips for you:
Firstly, stay on topic. Unless you want tangents of little significance, you should avoid introducing your own.
Point Bravo: Be concise. Stream of consciousness is fine for a journal or in short bursts, but when you consistently need several boxes to fail to even make your point, it suggests you may not be interested in communicating the point, or may not know it yourself.
3) People are usually not stupid. We can pick up on tone and implications just fine. Treat your audience, if not your opposition, with a modicum of respect.

And they're even managing to do it without murdering dozens of people, rallying behind pedophiles and serial felons, or even burning down people's livelihoods and cities.
