Partially factually correct. A plague refers to a specific type of illness and generally is bacterial in nature. It is often used in common speech to refer to any wide spread, severe, or deadly and contagious condition or used in a more metaphorical sense to refer to something widespread or spreading and considered bad- “plague of drug use..” “plague of stupidity..” etc.
however by the proper definition, most things referred to as plague are not plagues.
It IS however true that people with the ability to stream art have been affected by a plague. The “Black Death” itself was never eradicated and still exists around the globe- even in the IS where for example squirrels are often carriers. Cases tend to be around or less than a couple thousand world wide each year so it isn’t a huge number of people who would be affected, but some are.
Also- it is inferred from the context that this post may be comparing plague to the widespread covid-19 pandemic- the closest analog the world has for the plague in this century, a world wide microorganism spread killing large numbers of people. I’ll choose to believe famousone missed that and was taking things more literally- but I caution @famousone from my own experience to be careful, others may come to point out that statement could be seen as “disingenuous.”
