Other factors (besides those listed above) include the fact that there are more male CEOs and that male athletes get paid more do to higher demand. These large salary individuals also skew the results, making it seem as if men are paid more for the same job. We need to be careful when looking at "wage gap" studies as all to often they merely compare the average lifetime income of two groups without considering the other factors such as the true day to day income.

Or, that they don't work as long? Factoring in the facts such as maternity leave taking care of children and starting their careers later in life is what leads to the "wage gap." If you take two young adults just entering the/ work field, same age, same school, same experience, and same job the girl actually makes more.

You do realize the media does the exact same thing to guys right? When was the last time you saw the news or an entertainment outlet portray the "ugly" guy as the hero?
