Ok, as an Australian only a couple of months to a year ago was the last time I had heard of a shooting in the news (not including the Lindt cafe siege thing) (I also don't really watch the news much either, but..) and those were a string of drive by shootings. I'm not saying that it's not around, it's just rarely talked about mainly. It's also not impossible to get guns. My dad has a gun from when they were still legal and I know plenty of people with rifle licenses who buy them at country clubs and stuff. I can understand wanting guns and stuff to protect yourself but I don't think you need a fully automatic assault rifle to protect your kids. Even a baseball bat (wooden) would do the same job without actually killing anyone. Also, just out of curiosity what's the comedians name?
