Okay, let's talk gun control for a second. Here's what Obama does NOT want to do: take away all guns and ruin the sport of hunting, etc. Here's what Obama DOES want to do: make certain guns that have no purpose besides killing lots of other humans much much harder to get by people who will use these guns to kill other humans. The Second Amendment is saying that people can form militias and take over corrupt governments and they have the right to bear arms and do this because it was a relevant problem when that right was written. Now, however, we have much more powerful guns and bad people can get them fairly easily then things like Sandy Hook happen. Obama wants to make it harder for people who want to create massacres to get guns, but he doesn't give a damn about what people do with their turkey shooting guns or anything like that.
He isn't taking away your guns for hunting animals, etc., he's making it harder for someone to buy AK47s and other big guns for killing people.
Bad guys get whatever guns they want already, no criminal or murderer is going to pay $1500 for the type of gun that was used in all of these massacres, and go through the legalities of buying one, they're simply going to acquire it illegally. I, as a free citizen, have the right to an effective self defense weapon, and the fact that some psycho misuses them does not take that right away. And this is the entire point BAD GUYS DO NOT BUY GUNS LEGALLY SO LAWS WILL DO NOTHING BUT TAKE THEM AWAY FROM GOOD PEOPLE. Do you think that all the drug lords and convicted felons legally posses the firearms that they own? Of course not. Laws do not stop bad guys, only good guys with guns can stop bad guys.
I love the internet, the place where, if your opinion differs from the "masses," you're shunned and disliked for it.
Relating to OP, could you kindly explain how a .223 or 5.56x45, is a "big gun"
It's a .22 caliber. How is a .30 caliber AK-47 which, if you buy it legally, is 99% likely to be a semi-automatic? But oh no, big scary "30 round machine gun clipzzz" Yep, those things you have to go to a gun shop to get and cost 15 USD minimum. OR, 500 rounds of 5.56x45? Cheap 5.56 will easily run you 400USD for 500. .223? Exact same.
How many of you anti-gun lobbyists have actually used a firearm and can label the parts and anatomy of a "bullet" AKA the hunk of lead that is crimped into the cartridge and flies out of the barrel.
Then again, the uniformed are the mass and they're "always right..."
What he's saying is, the gun that Obama had targeted is ar-15, battle style rifles, but the bullet they shoot is the same size as a .22 bullet. The clueless guest said "big guns." And swag up there said that they are basically the smallest bullets that exist. Any handgun meant for self defense has a much bigger bullet, even a .38 calibre, which is the smallest bullet recommended for self defense in handguns. Also just for informative purposes, all .22 calibre means is that the size of the diameter of the bullet is 22/100 of an inch. So the whole point is this: the smallest handgun recommended for self defense is a .38 calibre, and the ar-15 (which is the gun Obama was going after) shoots a smaller bullet.
That's why the possession of explosives and drunk driving are prohibited. Of course a gun is just a tool after all but a dangerous one. If you give a terrorist a bomb he'll probably blow something up, if you give a drunk person a car he'll probably cause an accident, and if you give a moron a gun who thinks his so-called freedom is worth more than the security of others... Well, I'm sorry for that but that's just the first thought which comes through my mind when I read such posts. They're really just phrasemongering in my ears.
I don't know what is the issue with guns. In Japan ALL guns are prohibited unless you're a police officer ect, YET they aren't whining about gun control.
A lot of things are prohibited in Japan. They aren't allowed to complain about anything.

Here in south africa it's not that hard to get a gun and we have one of the highest crime rates in the world. To be honest I've read all your laws for gun control in america and they are ridiculous? Just ban all those dangerous guns ban all of them! The highest powered rifle we're allowed to get is a .22 which can kill a human only if shot in spots where it will kill you and reloading is a hassle! There are some cases where people get machine guns and stuff but that's illegally! My friends uncle bought an antique MP40 (WW2 Gun) and was not allowed with it anywhere past airport security! It was insane how the airport treated this situation(Our country's defence forces/security/Police SUCK!) Just saying that we are not allowed machine guns n stuff at all without a lot of waiting and paperwork and ID etc Police are excluded when it comes to this though, they get weaponry ON THE JOB ONLY! The only firearm they can keep is a hand gun :)
so......you are FOR gun control.....you state how rediculously hard it is to own a gun legally.....and also state "its not that hard to get a gun and we have one of the highest crime rates in the world"..............................................yes.......yes I can see how gun control is a good thing

Look the reason why we have a huge crime rate is not because of the guns, most people get stabbed and most guns don't even have bullets, I am saying how hard it is to get dangerous guns like a shotgun etc, read it properly 3-| the easiest gun u can get illegaly is a friggin pistol, weak pistol or a rifle that can't even kill u unless shot directly at points where u can die instantly!
