I don't understand why girls want to be so skinny. I'm female, and that's not attractive to me. If the way I look changes how people feel about me, they aren't really my friends or someone I want to stay with for the rest of my life.

Its true and it is also less common, but still happens with men. Not necessarily about being skinny but looks. Many men just wont say anything. But it still happens.

Shikanaru, I don't want to be skinny because of certain standards or for someone else, I feel unhealthy and I want to feel confident in my own skin that is why I want to be skinny

I agree 100% but this is in the case that someone is going on diet and trying to be skinny, but in some cases (mine) it's not that you try to be skinny. I was born skinny and I am skinny, and trust me, I eat more than all my friends, yet I'm underweight.

niki, I understand. I probably should be more clear. I know that some people don't diet and stuff just to be skinny for society, but the majority do. At school, when girls are talking about their weight, it's always "Oh god, I'm so fat!" when they're really not. I just meant that I wanted people to be healthy, not "picture perfect".

I gathered that from your previous post, sorry if my post came off as nasty or as an attack towards you. I totally agree with what you're saying, and when people who is really not fat say that they are fat it makes me feel more selfconscious about myself because I'm probably not unhealthy fat but when skinny people say they're fat it makes me feel even fatter (sorry for the long explanation)

No, it's no problem. I didn't perceive that as rude, in fact, I was worried about offending you. XD It's just that I have a friend struggling with unhealthy weight loss because of joking comments, so it's a bit of an important subject for me. I didn't want you to feel bad about yourself because of what I said.

You have in no way offended me :). Thank you for caring for your friend and about my feelings, you are the best friend anyone can ask for. I'm sure your friend is perfectly beautiful just as she is. Oh my gosh I'm crying now.. Sorry for the emotional outburst I'm not usually like that

What if they made fake legs that went with outfits? That prosthetic looks like it was made for that dress

You need to start a business. That'd improve the self esteem of so many amputees who are self-conscious of their (blanking out on the word) stump (?).

My mom only has one leg and she wanted to start a dating site for amputees called something missing .com.

See why this works? Because we are focusing on the clothes and not the bodies. When you just throw a ton of naked people on a billboard, people will critique the bodies because that's all they see. But if you put the emphasis on the clothing, it makes the people look better. A well dressed person of any weight, age, or disability is always attractive.

No ones saying that. I have nothing against skinny people, I just dislike how models practically starve themselves and then still get their photos altered. For a while, photos like that made me feel horrible. If you want to be skinny, that's okay. I won't judge. I just hope you're healthy.
