Guys, breaking Disney tradition, turning all the cliches on their head and teaching a lesson that one might get wrong from their other movies was like half the point of Frozen.
And it was awesome.
But Enchanted taught almost the same lesson. Giselle thought she was in love with the prince she just met, but it turns out that it wasn't true love. I love Enchanted. I'm sad that movie often gets overlooked.
In cinderellas defense, if you were a poor abused girl and a prince showed interest in you and sent out someone to find you, wouldn't you at least think about marrying him? Like maybe if you got to know him more? Also a lot of old disney movies just portrayed how people thought then. I wish people wouldn't complain about everything. It's just a fairy tale, and if you are just going to let what a movie says run your life then you have the problem.
Quick reminder that the original disney princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, and sleeping beauty) were written and made purely to be appreciated as beautiful fairy tales brought to life with animation and film, not to be moral guides of how we should live our lives and were also intended for adults.
I love all disney movies and do not see a reason to discriminate against them purely because they do not share the same purposes. I like watching movies because it's like living in a day dream where logic and reality don't matter, it's more fun that way.
To the people who say disney princess movies didn't have morals:
Cinderella- looked past what she had and was happy and followed her dreams
Sleeping beauty- was innocent and spread joy and her prince proved how love conquers all
Snow White- was selfless and kind
Beauty and the beast- both put others before themselves and belle was not afraid to be different
Ariel- was willing to risk leaving all she had ever known to find love and happiness
Aladdin and jasmine- were themselves regardless of what was expected
Pocahontas- broke past boundaries to save an innocent life and gave up her own happiness to help her people
Mulan- was willing to sacrifice herself to save her father, broke rules to do what she believed was right, never gave up, and was ahead of her time
Tiana- was willing to give up her own dreams to be with the one she loved and had a very strong work ethic
(I know I missed a few)
Never say that just because disney movies weren't completely realistic or stood up to
