I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but this scene is from the movie The Garden of Words (Kotonoha no Niwa) and it was produced by CoMix Wave Films and directed by Makoto Shinkai, not Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki.
Also, Miyazaki isn't retiring, he decided to keep working :) (hooray!!!)
