The left side is dark and brooding. While the right side is murky and deceiving.

The water is brown because it has a high sediment load. So basically it's sand and fragmented rocks and so on.

It's probably because the boat drove over a shallow area stirring up lots of sediment in an isolated region of the river. The angle of the shot is deceiving

The waters won't mix because they're different densities, have currents moving at different speeds. Just because.. Science!
