A lady at bath and body works once asked me how my traveling by camel was once she realized I was Pakistani, I couldn't laugh so hard, I was working and she was being serious.
Then I told her I was actually born in America, but am of Pakistani descent and that I had yet to even see a camel in real life. She didn't understand. Any of it.
Of course I told her in English. I wouldn't even know how to say all that in Urdu (native language.)
I've even had people tell me that my lack of an accent is amazing. You mean my lack of a southern accent even though I'm from Virginia?
My mom wears a scarf and one time some teens laughed at her and said great Halloween costume. It wasn't Halloween. :(
