I'm an American and it's my dream to be able to say I am not an American. Maybe I can pull off a Canadian accent

This is extra true but if you're american and try to hide it go fuck yourself you shouldn't be ashamed of where you're from but rather of your society and government there's a big difference

Yes. Thank you for describing a lot of Americans, I'm not ashamed of being born here, I'm actually pretty thankful. Society is pretty crazy, especially since they think the words of god is going to change the way people feel. Government, I don't even know where to begin.

All we need to do is put fat people on diets, convince everyone they aren't owed anything and work for what you want, and tell DC to actually listen then we'll be ok.

I have found in my 16 years that Americans are only rude/arrogant when they're away from home, in their own country they all seem fine.... Except they called me ma'am, it made me feel like an old lady :(

From an Australian point of view (like the shark) I do think you are misrepresented as a whole. I see my sister watching American reality shows that star people with an iq less than their age and The media represents you like you are all bible bashing, Racist, ignorant fat people who think that they own the world. However the USA have the most intense and undying love for their own country, possibly only matched by Englands love for the royal family, and I think that is something to be proud of and respected. What you guys don't understand is that other countries don't even come close to that kind pride, so they see it almost as ignorant and arrogant, when it is combined with all the other factors. So there's no reason any Americans should be ashamed of being American, just because you have some fucked up people in your country, because I'm sure most pf you are normal good people

I've heard that pride in ones own country is a strange concept to the rest of the world. To feel pride in something like that is viewed as ridiculous to the rest of the world.

I blame the British. Them and their crazy-outlandish "Conquer-the-world" schemes.
