This was me at a Superbowl party

It's an episode of the British TV show the IT Crowd called "Are We Not Men?", and yes they are indeed watching a game of soccer.

In my opinion Football (American) is really boring, I watched the 2012 Superbowl. They pause for a minute every time the ball goes out of play, what's all that about?

It's called "downs" you get four of them and you can forward pass the ball, or run it to try to get yards. Every ten yards they gain is a new set of downs. On most fourth downs they punt the ball to the other team, but they could choose to go for it and try to get a new set of downs, if they fail the opposing team gets the ball and so on. I understand that some people have respect for a game even if they don't understand it, but it is fairly easy to understand.

I don't know, I guess I don't find it as exiting enough as football (soccer). Same as you but vice versa. :)

I do have a lot of respect for soccer, I've even played it before. I just don't find it exciting because nobody ever scores haha

That makes it all the more fun for me, when it's 0-0 and then in the 90th minute someone scores :D
