Actually, I'm Canadian and we spell it this way. I think most places do.

I think it's acceptable either way. I think colour looks more elegant, and color is just regular.

Pink has no wavelength to it. Pink is also not in the color(colour) spectrum. It is the gap in between that our brain inputs when you mix red and violet.
