for the first one... lactic acid is what causes muscle pain and cramps during the workout

I agree. As an athlete that does a lot of work (just trying to say that I'm not making it up), I've come to know that tequniques used to control lactic acid like ice baths and regular stretching can really help with pain. Based on that, it seems sketchy to me that they're saying that muscle tears are causing most workout pain. Then again I'm not a scientist.
muscle tears (tons of tiny ones, mind you. big ones are serious problems and completely different) are what cause muscle soreness. Basically, you work out, you push your muscle to its limit, and it gets lots of little tears as the muscle is stretched out. As it heals and regrows, (to my understanding) it fills in the spaces of all the little tears to make your muscles bigger and thicker
But what if that one day was leg day?
