Introversion used to be the way of it. Extroverts are only the newly acceptable (100 years) thing. Introversion used to be the good thing, while extroverts were sort of frowned upon. That's why it's so hard for people who are introverts. Introversion is now looked down upon and people keep trying to 'help' you but it just doesn't work because I AM an introvert. I can't change that so easily...
I know, right? A few centuries ago it was a virtue to be silent and be able to keep things to yourself. Nowadays you're not considered being able to achieve something unless you brag about it as loudly as possible.
That's not really extroversion. I used to think the same way until I decided it was time to change and as it turns out, extroversion is a lot more fun than being an introvert.
I'm an introvert but not because I'm shy, I just like to get things done my own way and I enjoy hearing about other peoples perspectives more than I enjoy saying my own.
