Exactly zips. I've crashed on my dirtbike many times going fast in a few of them and have never had my helmet fly off.

I don't think so. It looks like the two cars are in turning lanes and if they're are turning then the light must be green. Meaning his light was red and it was his fault.
And considering he is walking away, instead of getting the SUV's info, he knows it's his fault and doesn't want to be held liable.
