My friend's Asian, and her parents disapproved of her "black" boyfriend, but it's not like that changed anything. If you like somebody, you should go for it, no matter anybody else's approval.
It isn't necessarily racism, it's simply a thing of culture. It isn't that I agree with the way of it, but it's important to understand that different cultures have different ways of going about issues such as these

It's very blatant racism for a parent to not want their child to date a person with a different skin color. That's practically the definition of racism.
I still think classifying most if not all of an entire race of parents as racist is problematic. Stereotyping, generalization, over simplifying... It's a slippery slope. But I can definitely see you saying most if not all of the Asian parents you know personally act in racist ways- your personal experience is valid.
I hate how nowadays if anyone says anything about someone of a different skin color it's considered racist. Like can't I disapprove of someone for other reasons? People need to grow up and mature.
I believe it is racism because they are discriminating other people based on their race. My boyfriend is chinese and his parents don't approve because I'm not asian. That is BS!
