As someone who's 19 with constant headaches, frequent migraines and serious arthritis in my legs, I agree to this completely.

When I broke my ankle (and it was a serious break, it needed 2 pins) people didn't believe me. They thought it was just a bad sprain. And when my brother broke his wrist, he wasn't allowed to leave school because no one believed him.

Same with bleeding. For some reason blood is the only way to show you are in pain other than a body part bending in a very disturbing way.

I hate when this happens. I was playing soccer, and I broke my wrist. I had to finish the rest of the damn game because no one believed me. (we still won the game, so I have a interesting story to tell)

On Friday, I fractured my ankle and my parents thought it was a sprain, and left for an overnight stay in the city with friends. When they got home, it was twice the size and I couldn't stand... Nice try not paying a hospital bill.

Same with being tired. If I don't look like a zombie and if I don't whine about it, then I'm supposedly lying when I say I haven't slept in 2 days!

I look young and healthy but have had 2 unsuccessful hypogastric plexus blocks and 12 surgeries in the last 10 years. It's unbelievably infuriating to have my pain blown off because I look "fine". Aaaaaaaaaahhhh!

The irony of this comment section, people claiming never to bitch about being sick and doing just that here...
