Funny how with science we can do all this but not cure cancer or since really the government pays those people for a cure they probably already have a cure but say they don't so they can continue getting paid until i guess it gets out of control who knows people do whatever it takes to get a big fat check

Never getting old could be possible, its been said that jellyfish cells don't age, so if gene altering was ever allowed... we could mess up horribly and create jellyfish with working senses that will take over the word and eat our children.

We could be inventing a real functioning TARDIS, creating the first draconequus, or developing some kind of body armor to make the average human indestructible, and instead we are making glasses for houseflies. It's pretty redundant, but I applaud it anyhow.
