Marylin Monroe was actually not very beautiful. If you look at pictures of her before she became a star she literally looks like your average schoolgirl with brown hair.
People want someone to look up to. Given there own moral & ethical standards they will choose their idol who fits them most. Since society has taught industry what is wanted, it only makes matters worse.
If you don't break the concrete now flowers will die, and woven environments will be destroyed.
The second part is a metaphor to how the loss of character and basic moral teachings in newer generations will destroy what has been taught be our elder generations.
I like them both so I'm not a fan of the whole downing Marilyn. She was a good actress and she was good at ACTING stupid. Her IQ was 168 which is above average. And while they both had a hard childhood Audrey learned so many languages because she got to go to a boarding school and she moved around allot with her mother during the war, while Marilyn was in foster care as a child. They both did good things in this world and while Audrey clearly has done more she also had lived longer.
Both of them are important and idolized in their own way. Oh and I'm sorry, but how many celebrities have died of a drug overdose? She wasn't the only one.

Just because more have done it doesn't make it good.
i agree that Audrey was and still is an amazing woman, but i don't think it was a good choice to put Marylin in the same position as other negative examples in the media. when i compare Maryl to people like Kim Kardashian, i see her as a woman with class and a woman who was proud of her appearance. it's not wrong to be loved for beauty. an appealing appearance doesn't necessary means that the heart is ugly. if she really was just a shallow and ignorant person, she wouldn't have stayed an icon for beauty, sexiness and a talented actress until today and in future.
Marylin Monroe is like the black and white era of Miley Cyrus. Both women got turned into slutty barbie dolls thanks to what people expected of them and them following that expectation. Miley use to be a girl who's values were shown through her actions, now her values have to be stuck in a vault so she doesn't feel bad about tossing her ass through the air. People want things like equality for women, no bullying, and unrealistic expectation to stop. The ironic thing is that they say "no" to things they don't want but then go to another subject and do the exact opposite of what they say. Example, "We dont want these ads setting the standards for women. *next day* Now that is a man! look at those muscles!" or vice versa. Another, "I'm an advocate for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, *next day* You want to be gay? Hell no!"
The funny thing is, you know about as much about miley as you know about your neighbors and coworkers. She's got handlers, and even if you believe she's now broken free and is being herself, there's a real good chance that she's just making cold, calculated business decisions.
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand fake people, but please don't use the life she lives for the public as some sort of example of moral decay or something.
emptyvoid: "Miley use to be a girl who's values were shown through her actions"
This appears to be you assuming you know/knew Miley's values. It seems kinda like circular logic to reach that conclusion, does it not? Or I could be completely off and you're a trusted friend or family of hers.
No, I don't really know her values. The way I got to my conclusion is a long explanation mixed with fact and feeling that I don't think anyone cares to read. In the future I'll only go off of well known fact for these things. Sorry 'bout that.
they're both pretty, but Hepburn in my opinion is the better inspiration. I still like Marilyn Monroe but in the two, Audrey Hepburn is the one i'd pick as my inspiration.
I wouldn't exactly say Audrey Hepburn is less famous. She was also considered extremely beautiful, although I personally love her more for her amazing personality and personal achievements. However, they are both icons.
This is so cruel. Marilyn never wanted to play those roles, it was just all she was given. She always wanted to be a serious actor but no one gave her the chance to.
I love both women I love Audrey because of all the good things she's done and I love Marilyn because of her talent I don't care about her looks (even though I have a huge collection of picture of her in my room)
Marilyn is used to justify why media is so fucking terrible for forcing their models to be less than 100 pounds and making that a (very unhealthy and unrealistic) beauty standard. This lady should be a role model to motivate women and to empower us to believing that we can do anything we set our minds to.
I love Marilyn and Audrey. Why must we love one or the other? I hate articles like this judging actresses, women against each other, blonde v dark. No one really knows what these women were really about, what pain they felt, how strong they really were. They were both beautiful talented and amazing women in their very own way. Please don’t judge a book by its cover.
If you don't break the concrete now flowers will die, and woven environments will be destroyed.
Sadly, it's not going to happen.
Am I the only one that sees a problem with that wording?
