Plus, Darwin theory wasn't about adaptation. Lamarck's was. Darwin threw down Lammark's theory, so the name doesn't suit. Xavier was an expert in genetics, so he should have known that..

Darwin was 'survival of the fittest', no? Those with adaptions survive. Lamarck's theory was animals adapt TO survive - so both theories are applicable to his power, I think.
Yeah, i see your point, but Darwin's weren't actually adaptations, it was a random thing.. animals didn't adapt, they just happened, if you know what i mean.. The x-men dude did it at convenience, which is more a Lamarck thing.
In case you wanted yo know, the 'survival of the fittest' was actually Herbert Spencer's, Darwin's one was 'Natural Selection', but he said Spencer's one was more accurate.
The assumption is that being black at the time precluded you from acknowledgment of your abilities... keep in mind this was taking place during the civil rights movement. It may appear to have been "easier" to typecast a white guy, yet the ability of the so called minority to appear equal, perhaps even better, can be read as a direct correlation to Darwin's Law.
Random changes in the genetic code IS mutation - mutations are adaptations, random changes of an organism. If it is a successful, helpful mutation then it allows the organism to live longer and so produce more, meaning it is able to pass on the genetic information of its mutation to a larger number of offspring than other, unadapted organisms. This allows the mutation to affect the population more, meaning more future generations share the mutation - leading to a population's adaptation as a whole, eventually. At least that's what I think.
