Translucent is different than transparent. Transparent is completely see-through, translucent lets some amount of light through but not all. In the picture here, that's an example of translucent. :)
Wrong. Transparent means you can see what's on the other side. Translucent means the light is diffused and the other side is basically a blur. This is transparent, something like frosted glass or a lamp shade is translucent.
Yes but if you notice you can not fully see thru them. Notice can you see what is behind their heads? No you can't really. Behind Yakko's head is a book shelf yet you can not see the books do to the white from his head blocking the view. So, they and both or they are Translucent. Also you can not see thru their hands or clothes.
There's a difference between not being able to see because the light acts differently and not being able to see because their faces and hands are white.
