No, as it would be unethical. It is 1933, you would have no way of knowing who that man is, or what he would do. Now, if it were 1939, I'd beat the shit out of him
Thats a good point... At the time nobody had any knowledge that he was going to start another war, so if I was just a regular 1933 resident I wouldn't steal the wallet, if I knew what I know now then hell yeah I'd take it; just because screw hitler
Plus the scientific and engineering leaps that were made by both sides due to the war were absolutely monumental. Millions died, but it was arguably worth it for the benefit of future generations.
but then again consider that the concept of nuclear war was created, which made it so that now it is possible to actually wipe humankind off the face of the earth. Not exactly a positive leap, and the capability to have nuclear power doesn't really seem to have helped anyone. I suppose the threat of nuclear war and total decimation has been a deterrent to a World War III... We studied this last year but I don't really know a lot about it so anyone else feel free to chime in, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Not to get into the goods and bads of WWII, but did you even read the question? It literally said if you take it, it won't have any effect on his rise to power, thus whether WWII happens or not. The question takes out all those factors like whether WWII would happen, whether you actually are in need of money, whether you'd get caught, whether it would hurt him (you don't even steal much in his wallet) etc. just to pose the ethical question of would you steal from Hitler as a "fuck you" or not.

This is obviously a question in an ethics class. Stealing that wallet would still be unethical.
History wouldn't be as it is today, and even though thousands of lives were taken by that war, I'd have to say no. History would be extremely screwed up, and it was because of WW2 and The Holocaust that many new Human Rights and New Medical knowledge was founded, because of the war. So, No.
