Ehh banning something completely is different then regulating it or preventing a certain age group from having any.

Was having a conversation similar to this with my dad this morning in the car about chewing gum. He was telling my sister she shouldn't be chewing it before school because it is banned at school. But that ban is unfair, chewing gum bans start because people stick their gum under tables and spit id all over the place. If I eat it responsibly, why should I be penalised?

Well school is different, chewing gum also makes noise, it could also be distracting to the chewer, or when they get up to throw it out it takes the attention away from the lesson and on to the student to see what he/she is up too. Pretty much stuff like that is also why chewing gum isn't allowed.

I guess you're right. But I chew discreetly and quietly anyway in those situations.

This kind of shit is happening more and more in this country. The government is regulating our lives more and more because we are too stupid to know what we need. A perfect example is the ACA. The government is forcing people to get certain kinds of medical insurance Katadyn of letting the people decode what they do and do not want/need. Fuck off, federal government!
