This makes sense, I want both. If you think you are responsible enough to have sex, you are responsible enough to bring up a kid together. Accept the risk.
That's why she should have the option of getting an abortion.
True Fact: In some states it is/was legal for a rapist to claim custody of a child they conceived through rape
I don't belive that rapists should ever get custody of a child, but they should be paying for everything the child could ever need. Not paying part of the cost, but the WHOLE COST of raising the child. That's what you get for not getting permission.
(I'm probably going to get downvoted to hell for this opinion) but I think, personally, that abortion is not right. Just because the baby isn't out of the womb doesn't mean it's not living. They have a right to live as much as you guys.

(I, also, am probably going to be down-voted) Personally, I disagree; I feel that a foetus is not a child but in fact a collection of cells. I do not deem it a child until approximately 26 weeks (as this is when it biologically begins to function as an individual) and so abortion is merely the removal of unwanted cells, not murder, as I do not see it as a living thing.
But don't you see? You are removing cells, yes, but those cells could be so much more! They will be a child, a living thing. Although many people do not agree with me I think all life is sacred, with humans first in line.
To me, at the stage they're removed, those cells are just cells. *Eventually* they'd grow into a child, but if I'm having an abortion I don't want a child, so I'm removing it before it becomes one. I think some people become too attached to the idea of life, clinging to life just for the sake of life - which isn't a good or healthy thing.
I suppose that's your opinion....Jesus....but like I said everyone has their own opinions. I just wanted to state how I feel, I'm not here to argue so now we can go our merry ways, no need to keep going on.
I see what jesus is saying. I had to write an essay about abortion in cases of rape.
Would you rather bring a child into this world that could possibly look like your rapist to where you could forever hate your child's face? Or bring a child into the world where you have no income, starving, and homeless?
I would rather not put the child through more hell by being in this world if it's still a collection of cells.
But there HAS to be a stopping point in the pregnancy where a woman can no longer have an abortion and have REASON.
Nutella_idiot, you are forgetting about adoption. One of my friends was adopted. He wanted to get in touch with his birth parents when he became an adult, and after years of searching, he found out he was a rape baby. He is angry with the man (who was never caught) who helped make him, but loves his life and is thankful to his birth mom she didn't kill him to pay for the sins of another.
That is HIM. But some women are too irresponsible to even give them to an adoption agency and end up keeping them in an unsafe home.
It's not my decision. It should always be the woman's. It's HER body
Its not HER body when a womans pregnant. Its their body. Hers and the babys. That's a contract you sign when you decide to have a guy put his dick in you. You have sex you gamble. Dont kill a kid cause you're a sore loser. Simply an opinion, It means nothing.
But it wasn't HER choice to be raped and have a baby forced upon her. I was raped in 6th and 7th grade. Do you think that I should've kept a baby at that age?
A middle schooler (yes I was already having my period), pregnant by rape. No consent.
I don't believe that it's fair to have a child forced upon you.
I just wish people could put themselves in MY shoes as a young girl who got taken advantage of. Then, have to go through a whole pregnancy. I didn't even know how my body worked at that time.
I was still a child myself. How do you expect me to raise another child? Rape pregnancies shouldn't be the decision of the law to keep a child. It should be the woman's. She went through the trauma, not you.
What if the baby ended up looking like the rapist and the mother couldn't look at her child without wanting to cry. What if she hurt the baby because she knew the father was her rapist?
I'm sorry, but this experience has hurt me and my mother (she conceived through rape). It shouldn't be up to OTHERS in the decision as to what a woman is doing with her body.
And by the way...the embryo doesn't have a heartbeat until about 9 weeks.
1.have a baby
2. Don't be a good dad / run away
3. Get put on child support
4. Don't pay child support
5. Go to jail
At least in Maryland anyway
p.s. It's her body, if she doesn't want a human to be in it, stretch it out for 9 months, and exit out of her vagina, possibly ripping her puhole then that's her decision. Also don't rape
Abortion should always be legal because women (and sometimes young teens) get raped and are then forced to give birth to the son/daughter of the person who scarred them for life
