The Bill of Rights is not "The Bill That Lets You Act Like An Asshole." It's a list of positive (by that I mean it adds something) rights for the citizenry, as well as negative (takes away) rights of the government.

This is what I think about when people criticize the US government for being too controlling- the fact that you can say that means freedom of speech

You can and will be arrested and tried for some things you say

But those things are usually associated with illegal actions. ie. "I'm planning on blowing up an airport." or "I committed murder on twenty-six accounts."
