Actually, if you hold down option while you type, you get this: åß∂ƒ©˙∆˚¬ ...also works with caps ÅÍÎÏ˝ÓÔÒ‹›ﬁﬂ‡°·

If you google ASCII code you get codes for 255 symbols and by pressing "Alt" and the symbol's code well.. you get the symbol. :)
