That's actually wrong, what damages the battery is overcharging your phone. Your not supposed to leave it plugged up over night or when your gone for a Lon time because it will shorten the battery life. This has happened to my laptop, since we overcharged it so much it went from 6 hours of life to 1 and a half
There's a reason they made the cords so short.
