If you're going to go the route of the M16 family, you're better off with an HK416. They are more accurate and reliable. While we're at it... you might as well go one up on that and go with the HK417, the 7.62 variant.
.
Or so I've heard. I haven't gotten any trigger time on one yet.
I want the M-16 for the same reason people want Tommy guns, they look and probably feel nice. Also, it's essentially a modern classic.
But I will be sure to try and get my hands on a 417.
Do you have an opinion on the SCAR? I fired the 7.62 version awhile ago and it felt awesome!
I understand the SCAR's to also be pretty good to... regrettably yet another that I've yet to get my grubby paws on.
.
One thing I will say is that the caliber choice for the SCAR-H, the one you tried out, is an interesting tactical decision. As I'm sure you know, it uses the 7.62x39, the same round the AK47 uses, as well as a compatible magazine. This allows SOU operators to easily "resupply" behind enemy lines.
You are speaking a dialect of English known as 'Badass'. I also happen to be very fluent in Badass and am well aware that the SCAR-H uses AK-47 rounds.
And I would like to know where you learned this stuff. I myself have friends in the Rangers, the Marines, and have utilized google to further educate myself. Have you similar sources?
In a manner of speaking, yes. I've got ~12 years experience in US Army Small Arms Repair...
I'm admittedly a bit rusty on more recent developments and weapons that aren't in current active use though.
The best pieces of advice I can give for that is to take a look at the list of jobs that you qualify for and pick the one that you can most easily turn into a civilian occupation. OR go to college and join the ROTC.
But this is a good alternative.

I love talking about things like this.
Thank you for the advice.
